3.参考词汇：门票---entrance f ee
I’m writing to tell you about the discussion we have had about whether an entrance fee should be charged for parks. 60% of us schoolmates think t hat an entrance fee do not meet people’s expectations, for a park is considered to be a place where the public can have a good time when they are not busy either a t home or at work. If an entrance fee must be paid by the visitors for a park, it will be necessary to build a gate and surrounding walls. In the end a city will take on a bad look. 40% of us schoolmates think that an entrance fee can be accepted, but it must not be too expensive. The money from ticket selling can be used for paying the gardeners in the par k and buying some other kinds of flowers and trees.
With regard to myself, I think an entrance fee is useful, for it can be used to protect a park. Do we share the same opinion, dear editor?
Dear Editor ,
Recently ,in our class there has been a heated discussion about whether the Beijing Zoo should be moved out of the city . Some of my classmates are in favor of the move .They say large crowds of tourists to the zoo will result in traffic jams .They also say that once moved ,animals will have more space and better living conditions in the suburbs .However ,other students are against the idea ,saying that the Beijing Zoo, built in 1906 ,has a history of 100 years ,and is well –known at home and abroad .So it should remain where it is .What’s more ,moving may cause the death of some animals .To move or not ,this is a big decision which has to be made by people in Beijing.
Dear Mr. Brown,
I have been back, and write this letter to show my thanks. As the exchange student, you make me feel warm. Welcome to my country ,I’ll show you around in turn.
However , there exists a problem that I have left my dictionary at your home. I like it very much , for it was a precious gift from my teacher who comes from the U.S. I guess that my book may stay on your shelf in the bedroom .
Do you mind if you send my dictionary to me? I will pay for the postage and I’ll be very grateful if you show your warmness again.
I’m eager to receive your reply.
【试题回放】实现有效的沟通，建立良好的人际关系，不仅要善于言表，更要学会倾听。请你根据下表中所提供的信息，写一篇题为 “Being a Good Listener” 的英文演讲稿。
Good afternoon, everyone.
The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.
Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.
Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.
What I want to stress is that each of us should listen to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.
Thank you for your listening!
Title: Want a second-hand bicycle? Here it is!
Since I am going to graduate, the bicycle that I have ridden for three years is of no use any more. So I want to exchange it with whoever needs it.
The bike is in plain black and easy to ride. Though it’s designed for racing, you can use it for everyday life as well. With a lock behind the seat, it can be locked anywhere you like, removing the trouble of parking. Old as it, the bike functions well. And I’m sure you will love it at the first sight.
If you have a MP4 player and don’t want to keep it, you can exchange it with me. Anyone who has the intention please leave a message here, and I will contact you later.
Mind Your Behavior in Public Places
Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. I was appreciating the beautiful lake when a scene that didn’t go with its harmony came into my eyes. A couple were cheering loudly on a boat, letting out the noise disturbing all the visitors around. They even threw litter and spat into the water, completely ignoring the sign nearby “No throwing litter into the lake!”
How could they lack public morality so much? I felt sad about them. And I was totally against what they did.
Every individual should think about others’ feelings and avoid polluting the environment while they are enjoying the beautiful scenery; otherwise the Fairy Lake Park would not be fairy at all and lake might be a pool of dirty dead water some day. Therefore we should mind our behavior in public places so that the environment in public places will be more and more beautiful.
How are you doing?
I’m writing to tell you that my uncle Li Ming is going to your city for a conference, and I’ve asked him to bring you the Chinese painting you’ve asked for before.
Also, I’d like you to do me a favor. Would you please meet my uncle at the airport and take him to his hotel since this is his first visit to the U.S.? Thank you in advance!
His flight number is CA985, and it will arrive at 11:30 am, August 6. My uncle is tall and he is wearing glasses. And he will be in a blue jacket.
Looking forward to your reply.
